The Heart of Catawba Podcast was born out of a love for this community and the people who make it special. Having grown up in Catawba County, I’ve seen firsthand how our neighbors, small businesses, and community leaders bring energy, creativity, and kindness to our hometown.
This podcast is my way of giving back, by sharing the stories of local entrepreneurs, artists, leaders, and everyday people who make Catawba shine. From small businesses that fuel our economy to inspiring individuals who embody the spirit of community, every episode is a chance to connect, celebrate, and grow together.

MEET YOUR HOSTS
TYLER BARRYMORE
Born and raised right here in Catawba County, I’ve always been proud to call this community home. I graduated from Newton-Conover High School in 2014, where I played both basketball and tennis, earning two state championships in 2010 and 2013. During high school, I discovered a love for teaching as a tennis pro, sharing my passion for the game with kids and helping them grow both on and off the court.
After graduation, I stepped into the hospitality industry, eventually finding my way behind the bar. Over the years, my love for people and genuine connections has only grown stronger. This community has given me so much, and it’s my goal to give back by highlighting the incredible people, small businesses, and stories that make Catawba truly special.
Outside of the podcast, I’m blessed to share life with my beautiful wife, Dixie, and our precious son, Jayden. They inspire me every day to not only serve this community but to help build a better future for the next generation.
Through the Heart of Catawba podcast, I hope to shine a light on the voices that make this county such a wonderful place to live.
